University of the Highlands & Islands Rural and Islands Bursary (UHI) Fund 2025

The Rural and Islands Bursary Fund offer existing UHI students the opportunity to apply for up to £1,000 of support for their studies. Thanks to the generosity of the Witherby Publishing Group Charitable Trust, UHI’s Rural and Islands Bursary Fund will support at least 10 students from rural and isolated communities in the Highlands and Islands.

Requirements

The Rural and Islands Bursary Fund is designed to be as flexible as possible in order to maximise its ability to meet the various needs of UHI’s rural and island students.  

Eligible students will be: 

• Currently undertaking a course at UHI 
• Full Time or Part-Time students 
• Scottish students 
• Resident in a rural or island location
