This is a Fully-funded scholarship for doctoral research projects with a focus on History, Literature or Languages. The scholarships are awarded in three disciplines that align closely to the Wolfson Foundation’s interests: History, Literature and Languages.
Scholarships are available to students who commence their study at the start of the 2026 academic year. These awards are not available to current Doctoral students.
The scholarships are worth £37,250 each year over three years (or 50% pro-rata over six years for part-time students). The award covers tuition fees, a maintenance stipend, and some research and training costs.
Both Home and International students can apply for the scholarship for doctoral research projects focusing on Languages, Literature or History commencing in the 2026/27 academic year.
There is a single application process covering Wolfson Postgraduate Scholarships, College of Arts and Law Doctoral Scholarships, and AHRC Landscape Doctoral Awards.
