Women in Mining Scholarships at University of Exeter 2025

Women in Mining UK and the Camborne School of Mines Trust offer two £12,000 scholarships (one UK, one International) to outstanding female students enrolling in 2025 on mining related MSc programmes at CSM, University of Exeter. Recipients will also help promote women’s participation in the mining sector.

Benefits

 Two £12,000 scholarships for exceptional female students (one UK and one International)

Requirements

These awards are available to applicants who:

  1. are a citizen/passport holder of a Low or Middle Income Country as listed here; and
  2. already hold an offer to commence study on the Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) Medical Mycology Online programme in September 2025.

And will be received by those who go on to:

  • meet the conditions of that offer as set out in their offer letter; and
  • enrol on that programme in September 2025.

Interview Dates and Process

Applications assessed on merit via:

  • Quality of covering letter/personal statement (up to 500 words)
  •  Demonstrated need and potential impact on both your career and female recruitment in mining

Once you have received the offer of a place to study, please return to this page to access the scholarship application system and apply for the award.

Scholarship recipients are selected on merit, based on the information supplied in the scholarship application. To apply, you must: ·

  • Complete and submit an online application form here. You will need your Exeter student number to submit your scholarship application.
  • You will be asked to upload a covering letter - a personal statement (of up to 500 words) that responds to the following: How will this scholarship help you to pursue your studies and career and encourage other female students into the mining sector.

You should apply at the earliest opportunity following receipt of your programme offer. In the event of statements of similar quality, preference may be given to applications for courses with the lowest proportion of female applicants.
