Women in STEM Scholarship 2025-26 at Kings College London

King’s College London is proud to offer the Women in STEM Scholarship 2025–26, a bursary initiative designed to support outstanding female, non-binary, or transgender students pursuing undergraduate degrees within the Faculty of Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences. This scholarship reflects the university’s commitment to advancing gender representation in STEM fields by providing financial support of up to £1,000 per year for eligible Home fee status students. In addition to financial aid, recipients will have the opportunity to engage with meaningful initiatives that promote equity and inclusion across STEM disciplines.

Requirements

Applications are open to Home fee status students who meet the eligibility criteria listed below.

To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, applicants must:

  • be a female* applicant to the Faculty of Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences

  • hold an offer of a place at King's for entry in September 2025

  • be starting your first undergraduate degree programme in September 2025

  • have home fee status

  • have been means-tested with a final assessed household income of £42,875 or less**

*this also includes non-binary or transgender applicants.

** by Student Finance England/Northern Ireland/Wales/SAAS. Students do not have to actively provide consent for their household income information to be shared with King's College London, and it will only be withheld if the student or their sponsor has actively chosen to withdraw their consent.

Award conditions

As a Women in Science Scholarship holder we will ask that you to do the following during your studies:

  • Write a piece for the Faculty website to show how you have been involved and what you have done.

We hope that Scholarship holders will:

  • Become a Women in Science Champion
  • Support and attend Faculty Open Days and public engagement events
  • Assist in the design and promotion of cross-faculty activities including Ada Lovelace Day, schools programmes and the Gender Equality Student Fund
  • Be actively involved in one-two activities each year, either as a member of a Department or Faculty E&D Committee, taking part in an event, or arranging your own.
