Applications are invited for a funded (fees-only) PhD project in the field of Law and Language, under the supervision of Professor Karen McAuliffe. Project proposals may focus on any aspect of the relationship between law and language, including, but not limited to: multilingual law; multilingual jurisdictions/institutions; law and translation; language and interaction with the justice system; linguistic rights; sign language(s) and law.

A full tuition fee scholarship
Masters qualification at Merit level or above in a subject related to the proposed area of research (or equivalent professional experience)
• 2:1 or above (or international equivalent) undergraduate degree in law, or in a subject related to the proposed area of research
• English language requirements: standard English language requirements apply (IELTS 7.0 with no less than 6.5 in any band)

Step 2: Interviews will be held via Zoom. Interviews are being held on an ongoing basis and early applications are strongly advised.
