Kings College London Sorabji Graduate Bursary 2023

This studentship honours Richard Sorabji, Emeritus Professor of Ancient Philosophy in the Department. Each year the Department awards one or more studentships to graduate students in the Department, taking into account academic merit and financial need.

About King's College London

King's College London was founded by King George IV and the Duke of Wellington (then Prime Minister) in 1829 as a university college in the tradition of the Church of England. It now welcomes staff and students of all faiths and beliefs. King's professors played a major part in nineteenth-century science and in extending higher education to women and working men through evening classes. Requirements for Kings College London Masters Scholarship Qualification

  • Applicants from all nationalities are eligible to apply for the Sorabji Graduate Bursary.
  • Applicants must have a good academic record.
  • Candidates must be enrolled in the Department of Philosophy in a postgraduate program.


Documents Required for Application

  • A Detailed copy of their Curriculum Vitae.
  • Cover letter addressed to 'The Department of Philosophy funding panel' which must include the applicant's academic status and plans for the forthcoming academic year.
  • Provide any other information to support their application.
  • Candidates must provide information regarding other sources of funding.
